L5 Land & Cattle is owned and operated by Landon Verbeek and, myself, Kylie Schmotzer. Landon has raised cattle since 2010 and transitioned to farming and ranching full-time in 2016. He graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor's degree in both Animal Science and Ag Buisness. During his time at CSU Landon was a part of both the livestock and meat judging team, where he accrued many accolades. Like Landon, I always found myself surrounded by animals and agriculture, and always loved it. I graduated college with an associate degree in Animal Science and Production Ag; around this same time, I became heavily involved with L5. Just recently, I was able to become Beef Quality Assurance certified.

Landon and I's passion for the beef cattle industry, combined with hard work and sound management practices, have allowed us the opportunity to run our own cow/calf operation as first-generation ranchers in Northeastern Colorado for the last several years. In addition to breeding cattle with a superior genetic background, it is our goal to provide you, the consumer, with top-quality beef. Compassionately raised, grass-fed, grain-finished beef is sure to produce an animal that not only performs well on the hoof, but also grades well on the rail and ultimately, your fork!
